Psychiatric Care for Children, Adolescents, and Young Adults
Board-certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner licensed in NY, CT, NJ, and PA. I offer assessment, medication management, and therapy focused on helping you understand what’s going on and making day-to-day life feel more manageable.
Life doesn’t always unfold the way you expected, and it can start to feel overwhelming.
Parenting, relationships, and the demands of daily life can become harder to manage, especially when things feel unclear or aren’t improving the way you hoped. You may have already tried to figure it out on your own or with limited support, and it hasn’t gotten you where you need to be.
As a psychiatric provider with over 7 years of experience, I help you make sense of what’s going on and navigate systems that aren’t always straightforward or supportive. My approach is practical, collaborative, and focused on helping things feel more manageable in your day-to-day life.
I also work closely with your broader support system, including teachers, therapists, physicians, and IEP teams, to ensure you have the right care and coordination across every area that matters.
I work with children, adolescents, and adults across New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, and Pennsylvania, both virtually and in-person in Manhattan, depending on your preference.
I offer flexible scheduling, including daytime and evening hours, so you can receive care in a way that fits your life.
You want a therapist who gets it.
Meet Chrissie Brewer
I was born and raised in southwestern Connecticut, where I experienced firsthand the pressures of academic performance, achievement, and expectations. Like many, I believed my future depended entirely on getting into a top-tier school.
After graduating Cum Laude from Connecticut College with a degree in Psychology, I found myself uncertain about my next steps. I began working in inpatient psychiatry at New York Presbyterian Payne Whitney Westchester, where I supported patients with complex mental health conditions and gained hands-on experience across a wide range of diagnoses.
It was there I discovered my path. Watching different providers, I realized becoming a Nurse Practitioner allowed me to combine therapy with medication management: treating the whole person, not just one piece of their care.
Since completing my BSN and MSN at Columbia University, I’ve worked with diverse populations across New York, from underserved communities to high-performing families. One thing remains true across all backgrounds: we all want to feel seen, understood, and supported.
That’s the foundation of my work. I approach every client with warmth, humanity, and deep respect. My care is never cold or transactional, and I show up fully for each person I work with.
Whether it means responding to a late-night message (when available!) or advocating with your insurance company, I go the extra mile because I genuinely care. It’s an honor to do this work, and I would be grateful to support you on your journey.

One of the best things I've ever done in New York City was to visit the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. They sound like pure tourist attractions, but you're missing out if you haven't visited these places! They are extraordinary and an important part of the city's culture and history!
3.
I’ve lived in New York City since 2012, but my connection to the city runs deeper. My maternal family is from the Bronx, and I grew up visiting Arthur Avenue and enjoying its rich Italian culture and food.
